- automated control of rail track condition on the low-activity sections of railway;
- acceptance of new laid railway track and track after machine repairing;
- identification of the weakened places of permanent way;
- video recording of longitudinal profile of railway;
- estimation of short irregularities on a roll surface of rails;
- control of clearance to obstructions;
- binding to the geodetic and railway coordinates;
- video recording of infrastructure condition.
RPI advantage is the possibility in very compact device to realize measurement and an automatic estimation of all parameters which measure track measuring cars, in the same frequency range, and to realize the same estimation procedure, which used on track measuring cars KVL-P (TsP-515 or any other estimation procedure by request of the Customer). Thus, besides the monitoring of basic parameters of the rail track geometry (level, track gauge, horizontal and vertical deflection of rails) is available possibility of measurement of such parameters as a longitudinal profile of a railway, short irregularities on roll surface and lateral wear.
All information received from RPI is attached to railway coordinates. The reports formed by RPI are identical completely to the reports formed by the track measuring car. If necessary, manual track measuring device can be equipped with a video-system which allows a video recording during the railway surveys. Also, it can be equipped with the data receiver of the satellite navigating systems (GPS/GLONASS).
All control functions are carried out in an automated mode. At that the estimation of all parameters is carried out after reduction to the canonical form corresponding to the movement of track-measurement car, ascending stationing of the chord length of measurement of horizontal and vertical bending of the track rail forward.
RPI can be issued as in a variant under the fixed track gauge (Russian, European, Japanese or any another), and in a variant which allows to adapt easily under the given set of sizes for a track.. The estimated parameters listed in the table can be easily adapted and scaled to the requirements of normative documents of the Customer (European Norms, the norms of the Deutsche Bahn Netz, etc.).
If during the work on the railway track there is a need to lift the RPI (for example, for passing of trains) and then to continue the work, at that time RPI will automatically recognize the time of withdrawal of the railway track and set back on the railway track, " sticks together" the results of measurements (to this case RPI must be rolled back for some distance) and forms a contiguous file with data of the journey.
Into RPI structure enter the measuring bogie and two software-technical complexes (PTK-1 and PTK-2) on the basis of portable personal computers. RPI bogie structurally represents an easily demountable modular device on which the sensor equipment and storage batteries are established. Time of assemblage/dismantling does not exceed 1-2 minutes (in the basic packaging), 3-4 minutes (in the full packaging).
Application of the device (RPI), equipped with the video-camera, allows to avoiding a disadvantages from current systems for general track surveys realization:
- subjective character of deviations estimation and railroad track frustration;
- impossibility to reproduce and recheck the commission conclusion because of lack of actual materials;
- difficulty of the survey results comparison with materials of railroad track check by track measuring cars.
At the time of work the bogie equipment provides the data gathering about a condition of a rail track and transfers it in PTK-1 thought wireless radio channel. PTK-1 is realized on the basis of the specialized portable personal computer (flatbed type) and it is used by the operator directly at the time of work on a railroad track. PTK-1 allows to carry out processing of the received information in real time: visualization of the rail track parameters, revealing of deviations of the rail track parameters from the maintenance norms with their coordinate binding, an operative estimation and the sound alarm system on dangerous deviations, a data recording about the revealed deviations in a database for the purpose of long-term storage and the subsequent processing. There is possibility of introduction of the operator marks. The passport objects of a railroad track (in the presence of them), current coordinate of the track measuring car location and indicators of a technical condition of RPI hardware are displayed on the screen. The full certification of the checked up section of a railroad track can be executed by results of measurements.
PTK-2 represents a standard portable computer (laptop) and serves for definitive processing (post-processing) - the data acquisition in stationary conditions (in a distance, in a track service): graphic diagrams acquisition with results of measurements, issue of reports, creation and editing of databases of passport data.
PTK-1 and PTK-2 are equipped with the specialized software, created on the basis of track measuring car (KVL-P) software, it provides full compatibility of input data and output data from RPI and KVL-P (database of passport data, graphic diagrams, results base, output forms).
